With the near extinction of the buffalo from the Western Plains came the end of an era.  The new era saw the Native Americans become more dependent on government than on their land.  As white man traveled west to his Manifest Destiny so the Indians traveled to their reserved demise.  “Empty Plains” is a sad reminder of what overindulgence without conscience can do.  A buffalo hunter with no buffalo…thus “Empty Plains”.
